In my experience, the concept of acceptance of illness comes up repeatedly in the context of long-term conditions and serious illness or injury, and we all have very different, and sometimes opposing, views about it.
I’m curious about this and so have been talking to people like you to look at it in more depth.
My aim is to build a picture of what ‘acceptance of illness’ means to people, how it impacts their recovery journey, and what could support them on their return journey to wellness. My intention is to share what I learn with people like you, and with healthcare professionals. I want to help develop effective ways to bring ease to the return journey to wellness for both the person affected, their carers, and their family.

We’ll connect for an hour-long confidential interview consisting of open questions about your experience of acceptance of illness. The findings will be reported on a thematic and anonymous basis so you won’t be identifiable.
